Gustavus Adolphus College in partnership with the Science Museum of Minnesota invites you to a public lecture on Wednesday evening, March 11 at 7 p.m. at the SMM Auditorium to meet and hear Rydell Professor Curtis Marean, Ph.D., noted anthropologist and research professor at the Institute of Human Origins at Arizona State University, Tempe. His presentation is titled “The African Evidence for the Origins of Modern Human Behavior.” The Drs. Robert E. and Susan T. Rydell Professor at Gustavus Adolphus College, is a program designed to bring Nobel laureates and similarly distinguished scholars to the campus as a catalyst for enhancing student learning and teaching. Dr. Marean was a featured lecturer at the 2008 Nobel Conference: “Who Were the First Humans?” The lecture is open to the public without charge. Seating is limited however, so advance reservations are requested.
