Mount Mercy College Director of Communications and Marketing Molly (Grisham) Altorfer ’01 has been named assistant vice president for communications and marketing. Altorfer began her new role January 1, 2010.
Altorfer has spearheaded the Office of Communications and Marketing as director since January 2007. In her new role as assistant vice president for communications and marketing, Altorfer will assume a broader role in the Division of Institutional Advancement, including overseeing institutional communications and supporting all staffing areas within the division. Altorfer will also continue to oversee the planning, design, implementation and evaluation of the public relations and marketing programs.
Altorfer joined Mount Mercy in July 2006 as assistant director of college relations and acting director of college relations before being promoted to director of communications and marketing. Prior to joining Mount Mercy, Altorfer served as the director of communications and community security at the Jewish Community Relations Council of Minnesota and the Dakotas, a non-profit organization located in Minneapolis, Minn.
She graduated cum laude from Gustavus Adolphus College, St. Peter, Minn., where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in communications and political science.
