Carol passed away peacefully on December 14, 2013. She was 85.
She was born to Lyle and Linnea Becker in Welcome, MN on March 11, 1928. Carol received her BA in English & Teaching from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, MN. She taught elementary school briefly in Baltimore, MD.
She married Dale Swenson in 1950 & with him moved from Minnesota to Washington State where they made their home for the rest of their lives. They were loyal partners for 62 years. She loved to listen to & play music, to sing and dance, and she also performed in Community Theater. She was a PTA President, Choir Director, Drama teacher, Girl Scout leader and loving mother.
Carol is survived by her four children David (Lynn) Swenson, Eric Swenson, Jean (Ashly) Swenson-Knapp, Sally (Marty) Wikoff, & Jon Swenson. Six grandchildren Adam (Anna) Swenson, Alix (Joe) Nozzolillo, Arison Knapp, Anna Wikoff & Max Wikoff & two great-grandchildren Emma Nozzolillo & Ezra Swenson. She is preceded in death by Dale E. Swenson, her loving husband, April 25, 2013.
She was a member of Christ the Servant Lutheran Church, 4300 Carpenter Road SE, Lacey WA. There will be a memorial service to celebrate her life in 2014.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. (photo both parents Dad passed April 25th, 2013)
