David retired from the University of Iowa in April 2017 after working there for 33 years. The family still has ties to the university however as his son Collin is in his second year of medical school and his daughter Alexa graduated last spring from St. Olaf and is a RN in the Stead Children’s Hospital that can be seen during the “The Wave” at the end of every first quarter Hawkeye football game.
