I teach English-As-A-Second Language for Black Hawk College’s Technology Center campus in Rock Island, IL. My students are almost all refugees, brought to the US through World Relief. They represent many conflict/war-torn countries, including Iraq, Burma, Bhutan and various African countries. I teach Level 1, which is for people with some English knowledge, but not much! It’s a wonderful part-time job. In May I took several of my students (and their families and friends) to our local zoo. If the picture comes through OK, you’ll see me on the far right.

Otherwise, I homeschool my two kids, which is a full-time job in itself but well worth it
