Christa Harrison ’05 spent spring 2010 volunteering as the Communications Coordinator for SKIP Peru (Supporting Kids in Peru) in northern Peru in the city of Trujillo. During her time with the non-profit organization, Christa managed external communication programs, such as the website, e-newsletters, sponsorship programs, and annual reports. She also was a teaching assistant in a sixth-grade classroom. In addition to SKIP, Christa lived with a host family and has opportunities to travel around Peru. Christa studied abroad in Lima, Peru in 2004.

Created in 2003, SKIP is a UK based non-profit organization helping economically-disadvantaged children in El Porvenir, Trujillo to realize their right to an education. To learn more about SKIP – or to volunteer with the organization – visit the website: www.skipperu.org.
