This Spring Andrew Twiton ’08 was named one of Bread for the World’s 2010 Hunger Justice Leaders. In June, Bread for the World brought all 75 Hunger Justice Leaders to Washington, DC for worship, fellowship, and training on advocacy and organizing around hunger issues. In the picture below, Andrew stands on the steps of the capitol during Bread for the World’s 2010 Lobby Day. He and others from around the country met with their representatives about protecting and strengthening the Earned Income Tax Credit and the Child Tax Credit, which can make a big difference for low-income working families. Also this spring Andrew received a Volunteers Exploring Vocation fellowship from the Fund for Theological Education. Following the Hunger Justice Leader training in Washington, Andrew traveled to Boston, MA for the 2010 Fund for Theological Education Leaders in Ministry Conference. This fall Andrew will attend Luther Seminary in St. Paul, MN where he begins preparation for a calling to ordained ministry in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
