In Memoriam Steven W. Sayre ’80 Posted on August 26th, 2010 by

Steve Sayre ’80, of Eden Prairie passed away peacefully surrounded by family on August 23, 2010.  Steve is survived by his wife Katie (Brown ’80), son David, daughter Carolyn, parents William and Clarann, sister Sharon Burstein (Mike, nephews Aaron and Andrew), sister Marsha Frick (Kip, niece Madelyn, nephew Benjamin), mother-in-law Hazel Brown, and brother-in-law Robert Brown ’83 (Julie Olson ’83).

Steve lived a life of faith, purpose, adventure, and laughter.  He lived his life to the fullest every day.  He was loved by his family and a multitude of friends and relatives.

Family will greet friends on Sunday, August 29 from 3-7 pm at the WASHBURN MCREAVY WERNESS BROTHERS CHAPEL, 2300 West Old Shakopee Road, Bloomington, MN.  The Memorial Service to celebrate Steve’s life will be held on Monday, August 30 at 11 am at MOUNT OLIVET LUTHERAN CHURCH, 5025 Knox Ave, Minneapolis, MN, followed by lunch at the church.  Private interment at Lakewood Cemetery, Minneapolis.

In lieu of flowers, memorial preferred to Steve Sayre Memorial Scholarship Fund, Gustavus Adolphus College, St. Peter, MN 56082.

Katie resides at 10900 Jackson Drive, Eden Prairie MN 55347.

Gustavus Adolphus College and the Alumni Association gratefully thanks Steve for his 30 years of service as co-class agent.  His dedicated support for the advancement of the College is very much appreciated and admired.
