Bend in the River Big Band (www.BRBB.org), under the direction of Bob Hallquist, is having a party for the release of their 3rd CD on Thursday, March 31, from 7 – 10 p.m. at the Wabasha Street Caves. (www.wabashastreetcaves.com)
The band members are primarily Gustavus Adolphus College alumni that played under the direction of Dr. Mark Lammers, who founded the group in 1987. Bend in the River Big Band can be heard regularly on KBEM radio’s Big Band Scene with Jerry Swanberg along with various venues in the Twin Cities. They toured Sweden in 1998.
