’61 Gustie Classmates,
Eunice and I have just returned from our four month volunteer work in Iringa, Tanzania. We’ve been involved as Companion Congregation Coordinators between Saint Paul Area Synod and the Iringa Diocese in Tanzania since April 2000. The Iringa Diocese has 70 parishes and we have 68 involved in sister-to-sister partnerships. To date, nearly 5000 folks from Saint Paul Area Synod and nearly 200 from the Iringa Diocese have visited one another in their respective church and area settings. This past four month period included a group visit of some of our 1965 Augustana Seminary classmates, including Ted & Marietta Johns. There were 13 total in the group, including spouses. We are eagerly anticipating the ’61 Class Reunion at Gustavus and renewing acquaintances with you wonderful 1961 classmates.
