This is a picture at the Federal Bureau of Prisons National Warden’s Conference in September 2011. The four of us began our career when former Gustie, Norman A. Carlson, 1955, was the Director of the Bureau of Prisons (a Presidential appointed position). Mr. Carlson gave several Gustavus Criminal Justice major students the opportunity do to internships with the Bureau that led to our careers. Pictured are left to right Paul Laird ’88, Assistant Director, Industires, Education and Vocational Training, Washington, DC; Wendy Roal Warner ’84, Warden, United States Penitentiary, Marion, IL; Lisa Wegner Hollingsworth ’86, Warden, United States Penitentiary, Leavenworth, KS; Blake Davis ’89, Warden, Administrative Maximum Prison, Florence, CO. We will forever be grateful to Mr. Carlson for our opportunities to work for one of the finest Agencies under the Department of Justice.
