For the past year and a half I’ve been working for Restoration Science and Engineering, permitting and working on Golden Valley Electric Association’s Wind Energy Project in Alaska. It will be the largest wind project in Alaska and the first by any Railbelt utility. At just under 25-megawatts (total of 12 turbines), Eva Creek will meet GVEA’s goal of having 20 percent of the system’s peak load generated by renewable resources by 2014.

Erection of the turbines started in June and will hopefully be operational by September.
