In 2013, Gee graduated from the U of M Humphrey School of Public Affairs’ Master of Development Practice program in International Development, and is now a Princeton in Africa Fellow with the Lutheran World Federation in Burundi and in Uganda (East Africa).
During the crisis in Burundi, Gee was evacuated from Bujumbura to LWF offices in Kampala, and sent to Nyarugusu Refugee Camp in Tanzania to lead a rapid response team addressing a cholera outbreak through a Water Hygiene and Sanitation intervention for Burundian refugees.
After a brief hiatus, and return to Uganda/Burundi, Gee is in the process of handing over his duties to the next fellow. Gee will soon be moving to Lesotho (Southern Africa) for another fellowship year with the World Food Programme in Maseru, Lesotho as a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer.
Gee often misses the the caf’s waffles, playing indoor soccer and African Night memories with his closest friends. Although he will not be able to make it to homecoming this year, he is looking forward to his next class reunion.
