Allison Stocco ’06 and Nikolas Georgacarakos ’06, 06/18/2016, Saint Peter, MN
Alli and I were married at Christ Chapel on June 18th! Alli and I both grew up on the Gustavus campus in the ’80s and ’90s before becoming full-time Gusties in AY 2002-2003. We went to elementary and high school together in St. Peter, but we only became close friends while working summers at Gustavus Printing Services. We started dating in 2008, became engaged in 2012, and finally married last month. Her father, Jeffrey Stocco, worked as an administrator at Gustavus from 1987-2014. At various points, he was Interim Dean of Students, Director of the Career Center, and Director of the Center for Servant Leadership. My father, George N. Georgacarakos, was a professor in the Philosophy Department from 1980 to 2011. My mother, Sandra Brekke, was Director of Circulation at Folke Bernadotte Library from 1980 to 2005. They met at Gustavus in 1980 and were married in Christ Chapel in 1981. My grandfather, Gerald W. Brekke, was a professor in the Education Department from 1962 to 1987. My brother, Alex Georgacarakos, and Alli’s mother, Pam Stocco, both worked briefly at Gustavus. I’m a third-generation Gustie, whose mother graduated in 1972 and grandmother, Rosemary Peters Brekke, graduated in 1973. I’m the nephew of Susan Brekke Benson 1969, David Benson 1969, Wayne Brekke 1970, and William Brekke 1974. I’m also the cousin of Jesse Benson 1994.
