Richard Helvig ’68 writes, “Since retiring from Family Medicine practice in December of 2010, I have been living in Borrego Springs in the California desert. Part-time until ~ 3 years ago when we made the move permanent. Since I previously lived in Grand Rapids – I say that I traded ‘6 months of winter for 3 months of too hot’. Enjoying the desert, riding my bicycle, woodworking and playing the piano for the local performing arts center and the tiny Episcopal Church and visiting grandchildren when the summer heat gets to us. Stop by when you are in the desert southwest!”
