Peter Ford ’84 is a Special Agent, Diplomatic Security at U.S. Department of State. After almost 33 years in the U.S. Department of States, Diplomatic Security Service, I finally retired. It was a good run – 115 countries visited; trained in five languages; tours included Mauritania, Lebanon, Honduras, Switzerland, Armenia, Iraq, Brazil, and Venezuela. Best tour was Rio during the Olympics; worst tour was Nouakchott. I never traveled overseas until after college. Gustavus taught me that there is a world out there that I should explore, the good and bad of what the world has to offer. Additionally, to do service; in my case I served the U.S. government. Thank you GAC! During my career, I noticed a big increase of GAC grads working in all aspects of the State Department, which is a good thing. I retired on a Friday and started work the following Monday as N.E. Regional Director for G4S’s Corporate Risk Services.
