Ethan Bjelland ’12 writes: “In the last couple months, I have started working at the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts as a Group Ticketing Associate on the Marketing Team, working with all customer groups of 10 or more. I’ve been having a great time, and have run into quite a few Gusties in and around Saint Paul.
I continue to teach Norwegian language classes with the Mindekirken Norwegian Language & Culture Program in the Franklin area of Minneapolis, and with the Concordia Language Villages in Minneapolis and Bemidji.
I live in Minneapolis, and I am still working as a freelancer, translating texts and acting around town. I just finished two projects. The first was with Nimbus Theatre in Northeast Minneapolis, called From Darkness. The show was written as we workshopped it and dealt with topics surrounding an art forgery. I played one of the curators and had cameos as Andy Warhol and Willem de Kooning. The second project was a new Sci-Fi Podcast drama with playwright Lindsay Harris-Friel and Theatre Pro Rata called Jarnsaxa Rising, bringing the Norse Gods to a modern wind-farm off the coast of Finland. I played Loki.
Lastly, in October, I’m going to be joining the Classical Actors Ensemble at the Minnepolis Theatre Garage for performances of Shakespeare’s The Tempest and Marlowe’s Doctor Faustus, playing various roles in the Marlowe, and happily playing the clown, Trinculo in Tempest.”
