On April 14, 2010 Anders Ringdahl-Mayland was appointed the President/CEO of the Saint Peter Area Chamber of Commerce.
“I am honored to be chosen for this position, and I look forward to meeting the local individuals and organizations who keep the wheels of commerce turning,” said Ringdahl-Mayland. “St. Peter is a community of rich history, thriving enterprise and exceptional spirit. I appreciate the opportunity that is before me.”
Ringdahl-Mayland, a Gustavus graduate, served as interim director of the St. Peter Arts Centerlast fall. He played a key role in organizing the center’s first-ever gala fund-raiser, which was considered a huge success, both financially and in raising the awareness of the Arts Center’s vitality.
“Anders has demonstrated strong skills in communications, leadership and organization,” said Chamber of Commerce Board Chair Bob Southworth. “We’re confident that he will represent chamber members professionally while trumpeting the virtues of St. Peter, encouraging everyone to have a voice in the organization, and being a team player in coordinating events.”
Ringdahl-Mayland’s duties will include guiding chamber committees and task forces, advocating for businesses, budgeting, providing information about St. Peter to all who request it, and marketing the community to all who might visit or move to town.
The St. Peter Area Chamber of Commerce serves about 240 member businesses and entities such as the St. Peter Regional Treatment Center and River’s Edge Hospital and Clinic. St. Peter has a population of about 11,000 and is about 10 miles north of Mankato.
