    Whitey Skoog, former Gustavus men’s basketball and golf coach, will be honored by the University of Minnesota on Feb. 22 when they retire his basketball jersey at halftime of the Northwestern game.   • Mustaphi Named Michelle Obama’s Deputy Press Secretary

    Semonti Mustaphi ’03 was recently named Deputy Press Secretary for First Lady Michelle Obama. Mustaphi worked on the Obama campaign, and has also held communications positions for three senators. Mustaphi graduated with a political science and communication studies double major, danced in the Gustavus Dance Company, and was an Anderson Scholar.

    Erin Holloway Wilken ’02 joined the Gustavus alumni relations staff as assistant director on November 17. For the past six years Wilken was employed in youth and family ministries at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, Maple Grove. She earned a master’s degree in youth and family ministries at Luther Seminary.
