October 5–7—Family and friends of the College are invited to campus for Family Weekend. The days include showings of Pixar’s Brave, a pancake breakfast, carnival lunch, an arboretum treasure hunt, and much more!
October 10—The Folke Bernadotte Memorial Library is hosting a three-day event featuring several women crime fiction writers from Scandinavia. “Beyond The Girl” will allow the authors and attendees a chance to explore women’s contributions to the genre, identify the intersections between literature and genre fiction, and consider what these stories tell us about contemporary Scandinavia and about ourselves as readers. This event is free and open to the public on campus and at the American Swedish Institute.

October 22–23—Fall Break for Gustavus Students
October 23 – Grammy Award winning jazz singer Kurt Elling, Gustavus Class of 1989, will be performing at the Dakota Jazz Club and Lounge in Minneapolis on Tuesday, October 23.
