Nobel Conference Input

Posted on December 5th, 2012 by

In October of 2014, Gustavus will host Nobel Conference 50, and we are planning something special. The theme will be recent advances in science and the speakers from previous Nobel Conference panelists. We ask your help in identifying Nobel Conference speakers that we should invite back so that they can tell us what has changed since they were here last. Please visit the site below, where you will find a list of previous speakers organized by year, to select up to five speakers that you believe the committee should consider. Thank you for your feedback. Here is the link:

  1. C Stoltzman says:

Wouldn’t it be wise to exclude from the survey previous speakers who are now deceased?

  2. Ben says:

I know Sagan never got to actually take part in 1997 due to being deceased the prior year, but Neil deGrasse Tyson seems to have taken a similar role that Sagan once had in public science education. In fact, he is hosting a remake of the Cosmos TV series beginning next year. Tyson would be a fantastic speaker for the Nobel Conference.

  3. Pamela Jambeck says:

I believe that as an institution of the “spirit” we should venture forth into the Science of the Spirit. Rudolf Steiner’s works and someone from Anthroposophy would be a beginning. We are now entering a new age of the spirit and I think GAC could be on the leading edge of that. Creating our own futures with the help of the spiritual world. Please consider.
