May 4 – Honors Day 2013 is a celebration of student achievements. Events for the day include Books in Bloom, Senior Studio Art Majors Exhibition, the Senior Honors Recital, and the Gustavus Wind and Vasa Orchestras Spring Concert.
May 8 – St. Peter/Mankato Gustie Breakfast will feature Tim Kennedy ’82, vice president for marketing and communication, who will talk about how the College tells its story to members of the Gustavus community on and off campus through print and social media. May 22 – ASI Forum: “Swedes and Sudanese in Minnesota: Geographical Commonalities of Old and New Immigration” On Wednesday May 22 at 6:30 p.m. Gustavus Professor Emeritus of Geography Bob Douglas is the featured speaker at the monthly ASI Forum and will touch on Sweden and South Sudan. This presentation explores some common geographical characteristics of the old Swedish immigration to our state and the new immigration of the Sudanese. The Forum will begin at 6:30 p.m. on May 22 at the American Swedish Institute (2600 Park Ave., Minneapolis). Forum presentations are included with museum admission. Reservations for this event are encouraged but not mandatory; call 612-871-4907.
