Upcoming Spring Concerts

musicshowcase2012May is full of music opportunities on campus. All of the music ensembles have been ramping up to these end-of-the-year concerts, in addition to all of the Senior Recitals that will take place this month. Check the Gustavus Calendar for May to review the list of Senior Recitals in Björling Recital Hall. Admission for all of these these recitals is free.



DSC_0121On Saturday, May 4, the 2013 Senior Honors Recital will be held in Björling Recital Hall at 1:30 p.m. featuring the work of senior student musicians. Also on May 4, the Gustavus and Vasa Wind Orchestra will perform in Björling Recital Hall at 7:30 p.m. under the direction of Drs. Douglas Nimmo and Karrin Meffert-Nelson.




The Gustavus Choir will perform its Spring Concert in Christ Chapel on Saturday, May 12, at 3:30 p.m. Ever since their tour in southwest area of U.S., choir members have been working with Dr. Greg Aune on their spring concert repertoire. They look forward to sharing their music.





The third week of May is a very musical week on campus. On Wednesday, May 15, The Choir of Christ Chapel will perform its home concert at 7:30 p.m. in Christ Chapel under the direction of Dr. Brandon Dean. On Thursday, May 16, the Lucia Singers and St. Ansgars Chorus will perform a concert in Christ Chapel at 7:30 p.m., under Brandon Dean as well. The Christ Chapel Handbells will perform on Friday, May 17, at 7:30 p.m. in Christ Chapel under Conductor Chad Winderfeldt. On Saturday, May 18, at 1:30 p.m., the Gustavus Philharmonic Orchestra will be in concert in Björling Recital Hall under the direction of Dr. Justin Knoepfel. Last, but certainly not least, on Sunday, May 19, the exciting Brassworks! performance will take place in Björling Recital Hall at 1:30 p.m.
