Wroclaw Main Square (2)

Experience Eastern Europe with Gustavus professor Douglas Nimmo and Professor Emeritus of Music David Fienen, traveling with the Gustavus Wind Orchestra on a 17-day tour to the legendary  cities of Prague, Krakow, Kety, Budapest, Vienna, and Salzburg. The companion tour is a rare chance to share in this blending of music and life; to experience the magical art of music performance with Nimmo and our students.

Professor Nimmo will be retiring at the close of the academic year. This will be his fourth tour to Eastern Europe, and his seventh and final international tour. He brings knowledge of the area, culture, and people to the tour along with international performance and travel experience. Past tours to Eastern Europe have been life-changing for wind orchestra members.

The tour is planned for January 22–February 7, 2014. A complete itinerary and registration information may be found at the GWO Companion Tour website at https://gustavus.edu/president/tours/2014WindOrchestra.php or contact Jackie Peterson ’77 at jpeters9@gustavus.edu or phone: 800-726-6193.
