In December 2013, Carl Ferkinhoff ’05 successfully defend his dissertation for his PhD in Astronomy at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. In January, Carl moved to Heidelberg Germany where he started a postdoctoral fellowship at the Max-Planck-Institute for Astronomy.
