In June I received my doctorate from St. Mary’s University of Minnesota in Education. My dissertation was titled “Determining Relationships Between Predictive Factors of Dropout and Student Engagement.” The study examined whether demographic factors contributed to a student’s engagement in school. It also established the validity and reliability of the nationally-used High School Survey of Student Engagement.
